Intrepid to Release "Where There's a Sea"

Today, Star Trek: Intrepid is scheduled to release a twelve-minute short called "Where There's a Sea," in which "The Ariadne comes under attack from the Orions whilst transporting Lieutenant Cole. When Captain Merik discovers the full details, the fragile relationship between Starfleet and the Merchant Service Worsens." This is the third release from Intrepid, following the pilot episode "Heavy Lies the Crown" and the Intrepid/Areakt short "Orphans of War." Next up for Intrepid is the full-length Intrepid/Areakt film "Operation: Beta Shield," which is slated for release later this year, as well as "The Stone Unturned," a full-length Intrepid episode due out in 2009.

Intrepid Announces "Where There's a Sea" Release Date

Star Trek: Intrepid is planning on releasing a new twelve-minute short, "Where There's a Sea," to the public on July 20th, with a special preview at the Excelsior Ball on June 6th through 8th. In this short, "The Ariadne comes under attack from the Orions whilst transporting Lieutenant Cole. When Captain Merik discovers the full details, the fragile relationship between Starfleet and the Merchant Service Worsens."

Intrepid Starts Principal Photography

Star Trek: Intrepid recently reported that the the principle photography for the next full-length episode, "The Stone Unturned." The episode was described by producer Nick Cook as an archeology-themed adventure story featuring Star Trek's best-known archaeologist: Jean-Luc Picard, who will be played by Patrick Stewart look-alike Giles Aston. "The Stone Unturned" is scheduled for release in 2009.

The Expedition Re-Releases "Time Flies"

Star Trek: The Expedition recently released a director's cut of its episode "Time Flies," which was originally debuted in early January, 2008. Details on this episode are sparse, but the website says that it stars Nick Cook of Star Trek: Intrepid fame, and that this new version features a new actress.

Intrepid and Hidden Frontier Announce "Operation: Beta Shield"

Star Trek: Intrepid and Star Trek: Hidden Frontier are teaming up again to produce "Operation Beta Shield, which is a full-length sequel to their 2007 production "Orphans of War."

"Operation: Beta Shield started off as a sequel to the joint HF/Intrepid film 'Orphans of War'. However it quickly turned into a feature-length epic adventure that would re-unite faces from all across the fan-film world and seven seasons of Hidden Frontier.

"The film will also serve as a launch pad for a third spin off production to Hidden Frontier. 'Operation Beta Shield' will be a prelude to the new show and contribute to the tapestry of the Hidden Frontier/Odyssey/Helena and Intrepid universes. "

The announcement has a summary of the movie, as well as a cast list and information on pre-production. "Operation: Beta Shield" is estimated to be released sometime in 2008.
