I feel that I must personally apologize for the delayed updates these past couple of weeks. While I've tried to keep up with all of the news, I've had some things going on in my life that have made this difficult: first, I graduated from college (wahoo!); and secondly, I had to have surgery on my right shoulder (which is not as fun as it sounds). Everything went well in both instances, and I'm re-doubling my efforts to stay on top of everything. Be assured that Star Trek Fan Film News hasn't given up yet! SB Productions Releases First Trailer

SB Productions recently released its first teaser trailer for its fan film project, entitled Star Trek: Titan, based on the post-Nemesis adventures of the ship commanded by Captain William Riker. According to this trailer, Titan plans on producing episodes by the Fall of this year.

The Expedition Releases "Loss & Redemption"

On May 1st, Star Trek: The Expedition released its second episode: "Loss & Redemption." this episode serves as a second prequel to the main story of the series, following "The Choice." The pilot for The Expedition, "Departure," is scheduled to be released this summer.

Phase II Releases "To Serve All My Days: A Night In 1969"

The newest addition to Star Trek: Phase II, "To Serve All My Days: A Night In 1969," was released to the general public on May 1st, after releasing special previews to selected fans. This new edition of the episode has new special effects, an added scene after the end credits, and other features, but does not contain commercials from 1969, as originally planned. According to the announcement, the advertisements were removed "To avoid any unnecessary (and unwarranted) complaints that the episode was financially supported in some way by the 1960’s and 1970’s-era commercials."

Enterprise-TNG Posts New Pictures, Trailer Soon

Star Trek: Enterprise—The New Generation added several new pictures to its website and announced that a trailer should be available soon for their first episode, "The Time-Mirror." Enterprise—The New Generation (Enterprise—TNG) is a new fan film project from Germany which aims to create new stories in the Star Trek: Enterprise realm through the use of action figures and stop-motion techniques.

Update: Thanks to Stephan Mittelstrass, Operator of the German Phase II-Mirror, I now realize that Enterprise—TNG is from Germany (not Denmark), and that the first episode is called "The Time-Mirror." I was also kindly informed that Enterprise—TNG is done by Juergen Kaiser, "who built the sets all by himself out of cardboard boxes."

Defiant Releases "The Far and Wondrous Distance, Part 2"

Star Trek: Defiant will release their 24th episode today, entitled "The Far and Wondrous Distance, Part 2." The synopsis for this episode has not yet been announced, and neither has the next Defiant installment.

UPDATE: The synposis for this new episode is as follows: "Otek and Kendrick are out to rescue Emeras, and if that means getting their hands on Mnet, so much the better. Keahi flies solo and Emeras meets the Mothe Astra."

Defiant's next episode, "The Far and Wondrous Distance, Part 3," is due to be released on June 4th.

The Continuing Mission Releases "Integration"

Star Trek: The Continuing Mission is scheduled to release its second episode, "Integration," today. According to the website:

"Captain Edwards and the crew of the Montana face their toughest mission yet when they are accussed of destroying a Klingon medical transport 72 years in the past. The Klingons want revenge... Can Edwards prove their innocence... Find out in this action packed adventure... 'Death to the Butcher of Silgona!'"

Lost Frontier Releases "By the Sword"

Star Trek: Lost Frontier released its ninth episode, entitled "By the Sword," on May 1st. In this new episode, "As the Enterprise prepares for departure, the crew loses one of their own while Commander Niles is made a proposition from the Federations true masters."

Beyond Announces Third Season

Star Trek: Beyond, a series dedicated to the starship Precipice, announced that their newest season will commence on May 23rd. The description of the next scheduled episode, the title of which has yet to be announced, says, "In an attempt to change the near future, Capt. Quest puts her career on-the-line to save the Alliance."

UPDATE: The titles of the first six episodes of the new season have now been announced as: "For the Last Time, Die!," "Frozen," Measure of Peace, Part 1," "Measure of Peace, Part 1," Measure of Peace, Part 2," and "One for the Team."

New Californian Fan Film Announced, Volunteers Requested

The following is an announcement from B3 Films, sent to STFFN by e-mail:

New Southern California Fan Film!

A couple of us are putting together a Star Trek fan film into production in May. It's going to be a post-Nemesis storyline following Riker on the Titan.

We're hoping to find local fans with costumes that would like to help out and be apart of it.

We'll need 1-2 Romulans with preferably Nemesis-style costumes. Or TNG style.

We'd love to find at least three people with full Klingon attire ready for combat.

The shoot will be planned for 1-2 days over a weekend. It will just be the opening teaser scene for the pilot. Once edited, it will be between 5-10 minutes in length.

Anyone around Los Angeles willing to help? We would love to see costume pics sent to b3films@aol.com

Dark Armada Posts New Video Greet

Star Trek: Dark Armada recently added a new video greet to their website, adding to their collection of video greets from Star Trek actors such as John De Lancie, Dwight Schultz, and Rene Auberjonois. This newest addition features Robin Curtis, who is known to Star Trek fans for her role of Saavik in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Farragut Announces Animated Episodes

Yesterday, Starship Farragut announced that it will release two animated episodes, which will be produced in a similar style to Star Trek: The Animated Series. From the website:

"The two episodes chronicle the adventures of the U.S.S. Farragut, commanded by John T. Carter, and take place during what would have been fourth season of Star Trek. The U.S.S Farragut is a sister ship to the legendary Enterprise commanded by James T. Kirk. Episode one, penned by Michael Struck and Jack Treviño (co-writer of two Deep Space Nine episodes), is entitled 'The Needs of the Many.' The second episode, 'Power Source,' was written by Thomas J. Scott, an accomplished writer and president of Magique Productions, LTD."

The release schedules for these episodes have yet to be announced.

Diplomatic Relations Releases First Episode: "Rapprochment"

Star Trek: Diplomatic Relations released their inaugural episode, entitled "Rapprochment," yesterday. The new audio series tells the stories of the United Federation of Planets Diplomatic Corps, who "pick up where Starfleet leave[s] off." The summary for the episode says, "A recent Federation member planet gets special attention from high ranking Starfleet and Diplomatic Corps personnel. Why does it warrant this high powered interest and what legacy has Ferengi colonisation left?"

Diplomatic Relations is currently recording their second episode, "Agrément." As of this posting, no release date for this new episode has been scheduled.

Roddenberry.com to Host Exclusive Phase II Premiere

From April 10th through April 28th, Roddenberry.com will allow Star Trek: Phase II fans to enter for a chance to watch "To Serve All My Days: A Night in 1969" before the general release. Out of all of the entries, 500 will be give access to the new episode, 100 announced each day from April 22nd through April 27th. "To Serve All My Days" was originally aired on November 23rd, 2006 and stars Walter Koenig, returning to his role as Pavel Chekov. According to the announcement, "This special edition episode . . . features updated visual effects, incorporates original series music, consistent title sequences, and has added vintage commercials for that authentic feel. It will appear just as it might had it aired on a night in 1969."

The general release date for "To Serve All My Days: A Night in 1969" has not yet been announced.

Defiant Releases "The Far and Wondrous Distance, Part 1"

Yesterday, the audio drama series Star Trek: Defiant released their 23rd episode, "The Far and Wondrous Distance, Part 1." This new episode follows their last venture, "Shepherd Moons , Part 3," which was released on March 7th. In this new installment, "Captain Bridges and Gul Otek broker a deal and an uneasy alliance as Brel tries to talk Emeras out of her course of action. Keahi plans her rescue mission, and there's a shakeup in the ranks of the Romulans!" Their next episode, which is the second part of this arc, is slated to be released on May 7th.

Excelsior Releases "Wildfire"

Star Trek: Excelsior recently released their fourth episode, entitled "Wildfire." This new installment is the fourth in the five-part arc The Excelsior Returns. Here is the summary from Excelsior's website:

"With Captain Cortez unconscious and a mysterious disease sweeping through the ship, passing right through quarantine, Captain Dovan takes the Excelsior back to Valandria to have it out with the leadership. In the meantime, civil war has broken out on Valandria as a result of Sorid-Gee's attempted coup, and Chief Engineer Lorhrok's attempts to get information out of the Oracle hologram go badly awry. "

Lexington to Produce "Fool's Paradise;" Pilot in Post-Production

In addition to their pilot episode "All in the Appearances," which is currently in post-production, Star Trek: Lexington announced that they have also started pre-production on their second episode, "Fool's Paradise." The Lexington website offers a summary of this new episode, which reads, "The U.S.S. Lexington picks up alien survivors from a ship which sent out what is presumed to be a distress call. However, not all as it seems as their new passengers behave badly and endanger the Lexington crew!"

No release date for "All in the Appearances" or "Fool's Paradise" have been announced yet, but information on planned Lexington episodes can be found here.

Intrepid on TrekSpace

Star Trek: Intrepid now has a place in TrekSpace, a social networking site for Star Trek fans, similar to MySpace or Facebook. You can find Intrepid's TrekSpace profile here.

Odyssey Releases "Vile Gods" Preview

Star Trek: Odyssey has released a preview for its fourth episode, entitled "Vile Gods." In this new episode, "T'Lorra has to decide if Stadi should be removed from her post or trusted to implement a rescue plan that could ruin their alliance with the Kelvans" (hiddenfrontier.com).

Hidden Frontier Announces Federation One

Rob Caves, Executive Producer of Star Trek: Hidden Frontier and its affiliates, announced yesterday that Hidden Frontier has a new fan film in the works. It is called Star Trek: Federation One, and according to the website:

"Star Trek: Federation One will be a four-part mini-series focusing on the President of the United Federation of Planets and their entourage aboard the Federation's diplomatic flagship, Federation One. 'Operation: Beta Shield' will serve as a prelude episode to this series setting up some of the cast and situations the show will follow."

Caves also announced that Hidden Frontier plans to unveil a new science-fiction project next year.
